Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) continues to strengthen its internal oversight system and internal reform through collaboration with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to ensure the integrity of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.
BGN Deputy Head Agustina Arumsari stated that the secondment of two KPK officials will take effect in the second week of November 2026. Their presence is part of efforts to build stronger institutional systems while enhancing coordination and supervision in the program's implementation.
"We will follow up on the KPK's recommendations while continuing to improve and structure our internal governance to prevent past issues from recurring," she said in an official statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
The agency's top priority, she added, is ensuring that the free meal program continues operating and delivering maximum benefits to all recipients.
She affirmed that the BGN will continue building synergies across ministries and agencies, as the execution of the MBG program relies on the support and collaboration of various stakeholders.
Through strengthened internal governance and inter-agency collaboration, the BGN is committed to ensuring that the free meal program runs sustainably, accountably, and effectively for the public.
The MBG program was launched in early 2025 as a key program of the Prabowo Subianto administration to improve the nutritional status of toddlers, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and school-age children.
The BGN is targeting the program to reach 72,464,886 beneficiaries in 2027, comprising 60,599,777 school-age children and 11,865,109 toddlers, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.
The target is higher than that set in the National Medium-Term Development Plan, namely 64.94 million.
